Example: Selecting Files to Use with a Trained Network

Now you are ready to select files that will be used when applying your trained neural network in order to see how well the network is predicting.  In the Batch Processor, you can select up to ten different files.

Double-click the "Apply to Files" cell in the base problem to view the Apply Files Selection dialog.  Choose the files to which you want to apply the neural net.  For the example, choose the NYSE.TST file from the NeuroShell 2 examples directory. Do this by clicking the gray disk button on the left side of the dialog. You will be presented with a File Selection dialog. Select the NYSE.TST file and then click the OK button.

Notice that the name of the file appears in the Apply Files Selection dialog.  If you want to add any more files to the list, repeat the previous procedure.  If you would like to remove any files from the list, select the files in question and then select the REMOVE button (with the "x") which is also located to the left of this dialog.

For this example, you are only going to apply the neural network to the NYSE.TST file.  Therefore, once you have selected this file, select the OK button to return to the Batch Grid.  Once you have done this, notice the name of the file you selected in the Batch Grid along with name of the file which will contain the network's results.  The Batch Processor renames it the .OT0 file to avoid file name conflicts.  This is another visual reminder.
