The GeneHunter Excel user interface defaults most of the parameters that drive the evolution process, e.g., the rate of crossover, the rate of mutation, and the generation gap. These defaults are appropriate for many applications. However, the following sections describe how these parameters are set in case you need to change some of them, or in case you simply want to experiment. The chromosome length is the parameter that you will most likely need to change.
